WILL / GOING TO (Basic)

Use “will” when:

You decide to do
something at the time of speaking.
·
You are predicting the
future saying what you THINK will happen.
Use “going” to when:
·
You have already DECIDED to
do something and you are talking about previous plans.
· You are predicting the future by using present evidence (i.e. the situation
now makes you BELIEVE that
something is going to happen).

1. Fill in the blanks with “will” or are

(A) You are at a car rental office, talking to the car
rental agent. You planned to rent a
compact when you arrive
at your destination, but he is trying to convince you to rent
a van.
