Anymore:      In American English,* anymore has two meanings…. ·                                Any  longer (interchangeable with anymore):                                          I don’t want to work here “anymore”.                                           Do you play golf “anymore”?                          Nowadays: Kids have no manners “anymore”.                                                              “Anymore”, television is just a waste of time. (* Note that in the rest of the English-speaking world, anymore is rare and many consider it incorrect. When in doubt, choose any more – it is always correct).

EXERCISE: Write a sentence using not ….any more for each situation.

EXAMPLE:  John used to go out with Mary but they broke up last year.

                    John doesn’t go out with Mary anymore.
